LOS ANGELES SKYLINE

Los Angeles has one of the largest skylines in the United States. In 1911 the city updated the height limit ordinance to 150' (decorative towers were exempted). The 1911 ordinance was repealed in 1957. The skyline continues to reach upward due to seismic design standards which are highly earthquake-resistant. The U.S. Bank Tower is now the tallest building in the U.S. West of the Mississippi river.

Committees

The Downtown Los Angeles Neighborhood Council ("DLANC") is governed by a 28-member Board of Directors, whose members may also be appointed by the Board's Executive Committee to two other Board Committees. The Executive Committee can further establish Standing Committees to oversee different subject matters. Ad-Hoc Committees are formed to address particular issues within the subject matter of a particular Standing Committee.
