LA MAIN LIBRARY
The Los Angeles Central Library (built 1926) is a treasury of databases, photo collections, public computer access, children's and teens programs, adult literacy, language learning center, classic architecture –and real books to read. In 1986, an arsonist nearly destroyed the library. Thousands of Angelenos donated their time to clean and repair whatever books could be saved. The ancient Egyptian revival style building is the third largest library in the United States.
