ANGELS FLIGHT

Built in 1901, Angels Flight has two red cars – named Sinai and Olivet – and an ornate archway labeled “Angeles Flight”, to ferry passengers up and down a steep incline in the Bunker Hill district. The landmark funicular railway is said to be the world's shortest incorporated railway; it's a public utility operated as a franchise granted by the City of L. A. Closed for restoration, it will reopen “in the near future.” Angels Flight was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 13, 2000.

Board approves roles and responsibilities for DLANC

In an effort to develop a more transparent and accountable leadership for our community, the DLANC Board of Directors approved new roles and responsibilities to supplement the existing Bylaws. By defining expectations of the members of the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, and Committee Chairs, the 2008-2010 DLANC Board hopes to help the transition for the incoming board to be elected in late June 2010.

All motions outlined in the attached document were approved by the Board for implementation.
